When you have a Canadian voice--this is what happens

I would like to inform all Canadians to what will happen to you next if you don't support the Liberal/Harper government...my family only means of living at this time have cut us off of first Unemployment in August...18 weeks less of our entitlement...forced us on Social assistance (a.k.a. Ontario Works- seems to be an oxymoron these days) in which we have dedicated trying to seek employment in our area along with finding every means possible to get small business support to help us properly launch our business we have dedicated night and day trying to make a living along with homeschooling our children who are registered with the Trillium Highland school board. We received notice today we were cut off social assistance and Child Tax Benefit which was included in the social assistance package today. What does this tell all Canadians in these hard economic times we are facing?

I will not go down without a fight, this is not just my fight to my rights and rights to my children but the rights to every Canadian who received a pink slip and will receive a pink slip in the very near future.

If the Liberal soft hearts of the /Harper government thinks they can shut me up by cutting off our very little amount of social assistance we have lived on, have made sure every possible way of us making a living on our business will stop this Canadian...they just barked up the wrong Canadian tree.

More on this and the lame reason saying we are too hard to get a hold of, their reasoning for ‘suspending our benefits’ even though they have refused to use internet technology and email as a source of contact for the Nippissing North Bay department we were forced to change over from when originally using the Muskoka region office who had no problem using email as this was the way we corresponded which was never a problem. Along with the letter which was received and all the documentation to support our efforts of both seeking work on a personal level and business level will be posted soon on Nabweekly.ca along with sending it to all my social networking blogs , media and government of every Minister, Leader Provincially and Federally.

A winter storm is rising in the North Central region of Ontario tonight (along with in my blood) according Environment Canada reports; our satellite connection may be lost before I post any further details regarding my follow ups. Please have patience and stay posted.Recommend this Post

Email to Canadian Press

I am writing this as a citizen and my rights to free press to express my disgust with how supporters of the Anti-Coalition today stood on Canada's Parliament Hill, my Parliament, with families allowing their children to carry signs saying "Bloc Scum". Today proved that ignorance breeds ignorance and I'm disgusted the Canadian media have done nothing to teach the citizens of this country about the history of our country, our Parliament system and the history of why sovereignty of Quebec is building and will probably surpass the normal riff of Quebecor's as this proves what an ignorant people we have and over the years the media have not reported in a bi partisan manner as they are supposed to but in a money grab calling themselves journalists. Our fundamental freedoms outlined in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms section 2 (c) Freedom of peaceful assembly, (d) Freedom of association,

This protest today represented neither.

Our soldiers are on their way home in coffins draped in the Canadian flag while fighting side by side with our allies, including Quebec soldiers also who have died in the Afghanistan mission. One of the best and most distinguished battalions came out of Quebec, the French Canadian 22nd Battalion in the Second Contingent, Van Doos with this unit winning over 150 medals.

The supporters who Stephen Harper breeds along with himself have spit on our Canadian Armed Forces, have spit on the veterans who have fought and died for peace and have spit on both my French and British heritage that helped create Canada of what it is today, standing in our Capital on our Parliament Hill that is supposed to signify Peace and Equality, something I'm ashamed of today but was proud of yesterday knowing our soldiers fight and die with courage all in the name of peace and peace keeping.

Stephen Harper has done nothing to denounce this hatred he has bred and had the nerve to stand in Petawawa and give a 35 minute calling card to our soldiers but allows this behaviour to go on in our capitol and on our Parliament Hill. The Governor General has done nothing to stop this hatred from spreading and is now causing complete civil unrest as this civilian will now not rest until Stephen Harper is out of office and crawls back under the oil slick he emerged from taking with him all the CCRAP he created.

Every citizen in Canada has the equality right that is outlined to say:

15. (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.

Outlined in our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms outlines in Official Languages of Canada

16. (1) English and French are the official languages of Canada and have equality of status and equal rights and privileges as to their use in all institutions of the Parliament and government of Canada

I would like this sent out to all media outlets and if the Canadian media does not show the rest of Canada and Stephen Harper the ignorance breeding in our society, I will hold the Canadian Press and Media completely responsible for not doing their job protecting the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that every citizen no matter how they vote deserves.

Stephen Harper should stand on the podium and speak only English if this is what he breeds, I am tired of his complete hypocrisy of himself and the CCRAP party and supporters behind him

and what he has now caused in splitting the unity of this country apart.

Sincerely,

Amanda Walton-Gaston

Economic Shortfalls

Former Tory government cut hundreds of jobs

December 20, 2007 OPSEU Regional Vice-President (Region 4) David Lundy sets the record straight on job losses in the Brockville area.

Excerpt from David Lundy Regional vice-president
OPSEU
Merrickville

"Most troubling though is Opposition House Leader Runciman's' statement "If people are poaching or overfishing and they happen to be from one segment of the population is that racial profiling or stereotyping." All Asian-Ontarians are not poachers. What about the thousands of law-abiding Asian anglers? Vigilante justice is not the answer and targeting any racial group is wrong. Ask a conservation officer, poachers come from all walks of life. It wasn't too long ago that Bob called MP Belinda Stronach "a dipstick, albeit an attractive one." Our MP Gord Brown is on tape linking immigration with crime. Our representatives elected here in Leeds-Grenville are providing Canada with one new stereotype, that is eastern Ontario as the home of Canada's rednecks and hillbillies and we all know that that is simply not true. The funding crisis and the report of the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario

On April 24, 2007, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario (ECO) told the public what staff in the Ministry of Natural Resources already knew: The MNR does not have the money, the people, or the expertise required to do its work.

In his report, Doing Less with Less, Commissioner Gord Miller said that, in real terms, the MNR budget was 18 per cent lower in 2006-07 than it was in 1992-93.

Example Found in Final Report of

How shortfalls in budget, staffing and in-house expertise are hampering the effectiveness of MOE and MNR:

MNR Case Study #2: Parks Program

MNR is responsible for Ontario's system of 631 parks and conservation reserves.

The parks system has grown rapidly, and new legislation requires more complex

management, as well as mandatory management planning, monitoring and

reporting. The parks system is managed under a business model, relying mainly

on user fees, with steadily diminishing government funding. The ECO found

that, even with increased revenues, the parks operating budget has not kept up

with the rapid growth in the parks system. The ministry has not been able to

meet its full responsibilities for management planning, monitoring, or

enforcement, due to insufficient resources.

Just another tax, Or Is It?

The day after our English debates seemed to inspire alot of talk as I stopped over in a few towns and cities yesterday, amazing the talk was of our younger generation. I was very happy to hear it as I've been excited to read the many comments on my social networks with some great debates among the Canadian people. I'm hoping this election has sparked some interest in many Canadian people, we need to be and need to teach our children to be more pro-active in their future.

I was asked yesterday to explain why my position was so strong on the Liberals Green Shift plan and to give an easy explanation to change their mind in why a Carbon tax would be the better way over a do nothing platform or why it would be better then a Cap and Trade, why paying another tax for gas (since that is the biggest issue regarding Carbon tax) would benefit Canadians.

Here was the conversation... Read More

Green or Greed Canadians....make your choice

Because We Are Canadians
It sure didn't take long for our leader (using that loosely) Stephen Harper to refuse a meeting Jack Layton asked to call of the party leaders this week concerning the recent economic nosedive the markets have taken and strategize steps to ensure Canadian economic welfare. The PM would rather duke it out in front of Canadians instead of putting competition aside briefly to gather those leaders we rely on as taxpayers and Canadian citizens to plan for any downturns. Tell me, is this the man and the party you really want looking after our country in what may be a very stressful couple of years.

According to Wolfe Blitzer on CNN's The Situation Room today discussions on how long financial stress could last...their guess, a couple years at best....at best. That, a very scary scenario for all North America as well as global concerns of how strong the ship's vortex will be and if it will be strong enough to sink everyone, but Canadians better take cue, we are very close in every way to the ship's vortex, close enough to be sucked in pretty deep so we must now look to our future with the best plan and the best man. ....moreRecommend this Post
