How much money is wasted in years of pre-election spending?
It seems to me with it taking years of travel and advertising spending in their on going debates, it takes money away from the real necessities that money can be going to good use.
It baffles Canadians as to how long it takes just to get to the decision of who's running the country.
Could it be there are just so many cooks in the kitchen, compared to our smaller governments representing larger areas.
Uncontrolled spending as the Bush government encouraged everyone to do while funding his war, with money being washed through the system and back out again and convincing everyone while playing on their fear and despair of 9/11, that backing him would bring world peace, but instead made everyone a little more nervous of the future outcome of the future of the global economy among other immediate concerns
With few countries on board with the invasion on Iraq, and not a U.N. united stand (with Jean Chrétien thank goodness having the wisdom and power to bow out) who was to stop the United States from invading,
without declaring war on the United States.
Canada fights for peace, a United Nations united decision that Al Qaeda, Taliban and other global threats needed to be de-funded. The first action taken after 9/11 was de-funding and it was working. All governments seized all monies found to be funded. It hurt them financially.
This could have continued with the money spent on invading Iraq, although Saddam needed to be dealt with,
it should not have been done with the cost of lives in every aspect of American living. Recommend this Post
